The needs of both Mecklenburg County and Queens University of Charlotte have converged to create a unique public/private partnership that supports the University’s athletic programs and provides the community a long-awaited recreational facility.
Situated on 65 acres around the existing Marion Diehl Center, the project master plan was developed as a national model for senior and special populations to include recreation/competition facilities for track, soccer, lacrosse, softball, tennis and baseball, as well as walking trails and a wheelchair-accessible field.
